Finn Gets a Visit from Grandpa and Mimi

25 July - 31 July: Thanks to Grandpa and Mimi for coming to down to Charleston to see me! They said I've grown a whole lot!

Grandpa and grandson enjoy a quiet moment together.

"Now Finn, when your Daddy was a little boy..."

Finn and Mimi enjoy some playtime. Thanks, Mimi for my new play blanket!

Apparently Mommy and Daddy tried to coordinate their outfits with mine.

"Oh Grandpa, not another story..."

Thanks to Auntie Heather who let me borrow Luke's Bumbo chair! I love hanging out in it!

My newest skill is drooling. And drooling.

Four-month war wounds. Meany nurse pricked me.

A lazy summer afternoon with Grandpa and Mimi.

Finally! Aunt Chris and I.

After much anticipation, Aunt Chris finally arrives on my 3 month birthday, and I get some cuddle time with her.

Here's looking at you, kid.

We visited the Charleston Aquarium. The fish didn't interest me too much. I was more interested in the turtles so Aunt Chris bought me a stuffed sea turtle named Coretta.

Like father, like son.

Okay, so I may not be the neatest eater...

... But all that
milk is making me big and strong.

Sad. Aunt Chris leaves. I wait with her at the airport.

Awwww, come on, Aunt Chris. Not another kiss.

Look, Ma, I can flyyyy!

Zen baby.

It Takes a Lot of Sleeping to Grow!

Below are various random photos taken during my first 5 weeks of life. Mom and Dad will post the very early days and other family members' visits in a different posting...

4/30. Mom and I are both sleepy. I'm sleepy because I've just eaten. Plus I love to sleep. I have no idea why Mom is so tired.

5/2. See, I'm sleeping again. My hair looks red here but really it's blond.

5/2. I also like to sleep with Daddy.

5/6. Dad enjoys a cold one while I ... you guessed it, sleep.

5/6. This is my pal, Garin, with his mom, Mel. He's about 7 1/2 months older than I am, but one day we'll play together and be great friends. He likes doggies so I'll let him play with Sidney and Marley.

5/6. Sometimes when I sleep in certain positions my double chin is exposed and my mouth falls open. Daddy says I'm catching flies. Mommy says I snore, but I don't believe her.

(Mommy says I'm sleeping like a little angel).

5/11. I'm one month old. Yesterday was the day I was supposed to arrive (I was too excited and decided to come early). Mommy and Daddy had a cookout to celebrate my birthday and the end of the semester.

Here's my buddy Garin again, this time with his mom Jess.

Only a month old and already I'm working on my Elvis impersonation. (I do wake up on occasion).

(Here I've nearly perfected it, but it took 7 more weeks...)

Independence Day: 12 weeks old (exactly!)

We spent the Fourth at Heather and Bill's (with Luke of course)--included among the company were Bill (Sr.) and Lucy, Flo and Barry, Nicole, Miss Pat and Mr. Ebbin, and Miss Meg. After munching on appetizers and peach cobbler and banana splits, we enjoyed fireworks staged and executed by Bill and Nicole. Finn seemed to notice flashes of light, but eventually fell asleep to the "boom" of all the surrounding works.

Here's Mommy with Finn displaying his patriotism through his outfit.

Luke took a real interest in baby Finn, gently poking his hands and feet (with supervision, of course)...

"Hey Mom, look at Finn. We're going to be the best of friends, just like our mommies!" --Luke.

Luke can't wait for Finn to grow up so they can play together. Finn's already becoming a ladies' man...

We were trying for a family photo here, but Finn was tired of posing for the camera.

"Whew! These holidays are exhausting."
